Elizabeth Gill

Elizabeth Gill in the statehouse bureauElizabeth Gill is a master's candidate at the University of Missouri's school of journalism. Her academic and professional focus is media management. Elizabeth is about to begin working on her master's thesis, which will be a study of media coverage of the economy during the stock market boom of the late 1990s.

In addition to her academic responsibilities, Elizabeth works as a research assistant for University of Missouri professor Phill Brooks. She assists Phill in managing the Missouri state Capitol news bureau affiliated with the journalism school.

Prior to starting her graduate work, Elizabeth worked as an assistant media director in New York City. She was responsible for planning the television, print and radio advertising schedules for some of the industry's largest spenders. Elizabeth worked on behalf of companies such as Intel, Nissan, Volvo and phamaceutical giant Amgen.

Elizabeth holds a bachelor's degree in Communications from Penn State University. She also studied at the University of Salamanca in Spain for 6 months, during which time she traveled throughout Europe. Elizabeth has spent time in Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria.

During her free time, Elizabeth enjoys exercising, reading, traveling, cooking and dining out. She is currently training to run a half marathon in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
