Transportation officials say an additional one-cent sales tax increase could provide additional jobs rebuilding Missouri highways.
Wrap: Kevin Keith, Director of Missouri's department of transportation says they can stimulate economic growth if they had the money.
The generated money from the sales increase would help fund highway projects including rebuilding Interstate 70.
|Description: "We're ready to rebuild interstate 70. We will get started in twelve months and rebuild the entire road in 5 years. And to give you some idea of its impact, it creates 70 to 100,000 in that one project."|
MODOT is pushing for the tax increase to take affect in 2015.
