Missouri State Department of Natural Resources Director Doyle Childers says he will give up his position January 12th, the same day as the Governor's inauguration.

During his time in government the former GOP state senator had memorable yelling-matches with Nixon over the Katy Trail Bridge dilemma and the Taum Sauk River cleanup.

Childers says they just don't see eye-to-eye.

Description: To be in a cabinet position in a administration where you've had major disagreements about everything, it just doesn't work.

The next governor had no comment on Childers' resignation, but did contact his department as part of the normal transition process.

If you remember the yelling matches he and Governor-Elect Jay Nixon had over the Katy Trail Railroad Bridge and the Taum Sauk Reservoir, its clear when he says they don't see eye-to-eye

Childers departs with over two decades of government experience, and hopes to use it in some new ventures.
