If the legislators can get the bill through the next two days and onto the governor's desk telemarketers in Missouri will have a tougher time making calls.

The bill would create a list that Missourians can put their names on and businesses could be fined up to 5 thousand dollars for calling someone on that list.

Representative Don Kissell supports the bill but, says he knows it won't stop all calls though.

The bill would also make it a crime to call a residence after nine o'clock at night or before eight in the morning.

The Missouri House passed a bill to restrict telemarketers and create a list Missourians can put their names on if they don't want telemarketers to call them.

St. Louis County Representative James Foley spoke in favor of the bill.

The fine for telemarketers who call people on the no call list could be as high as 5000 dollars. Opponents worry people who rely on the phone for their business might suffer from the bill.

There are only two days left for the bill to get final approval and go to the Governor.
