The Missouri Senate approved a bill to encourage restuarants and other businesses that sell alcohol to post a warning about the dangers of drinking.
From Jefferson City, Renny MacKay has more.
The bill would require businesses that sell alcohol have to have a sign warning that drinking alcohol during pregnancy may cause birth defects.
But, businesses that don't post a sign won't suffer any penalty from the liquor control board.
The bill's sponsor, Kansas City Senator Mary Bland removed the penalty provision from the bill.
The House has to pass the bill before it becomes law.
