The Missouri House passed a bill requiring students attending any school in Missouri to get Hepatitis A and Chicken Pox immunizations. But, the bill passed without a provision to make restaurant owners provide the same immunization for their employees.
From Jefferson City Renny MacKay has more.
The immunization bill is now headed to the Senate. The bill has changed from what St. Louis Representative Harry Kennedy originally proposed.
The bill would now allow parents to opt out of having their kids receive the Hep A and Chicken Pox shots... If they provide the school with a philisophical objection to the shots.
But, Kennedy says it is the change that removes the restaurant workers immunizations that bothers him most, and he says he worries about the health of the people of Missouri.
Supporters of the amendment to remove the restaurant workers proposal say it would have been too big a burden on small buisiness owners.
From the state capitol, I'm Renny MacKay.
