2014 Bill(s)

SS HCS HJR 90
Sponsor: Dugger, Tony
Status: VOTER APPROVED
Description: Establish a six week period for early voting prior to the actual election day. The House-passed plan would authorize an eleven-day period for early voting, but exclude Sundays leaving nine days for early voting. The plan approved by the Senate would authorize a eight day period, but exclude both Saturday and Sunday, leaving six days when early votes could be cast.
See:
  • Senate roll call - SS HCS HJR 90 (05/12/2014): 3rd reading of a constitutional amendment to put an alternative early-voting measure on the ballot that would have fewer days than an initiative petition proposal.
  • House roll call - SS HCS HJR 90 (05/14/2014): 3rd reading and final passage of a constitutional amendment to put an alternative early-voting measure on the ballot that would have fewer days than an initiative petition proposal.

  • Note: The descriptions of bills, amendments and roll-call votes are written by MDN journalists. MDN's database may not include committee assignments of bills made on the last day of the session since it is too late for the committee to act on the bill and, thus, the delayed assignment has no practical effect.
