HB 557 Sponsor:Houx, Dan Status: S General Laws Description: Various changes in death certificates. Authorize the next-of-kin to delegate control for the final disposition of a deceased person. Exclude the surviving spouse from th definition of a next-of-kin if that spouse has filed a divorce action.
Require the funeral director be informed the funeral director that the cause of death is pending if it cannot be determined after 72 hours. But Also authorize the Health Department power to adopt rules for transport of a dead body.
