Wrap: Missouri House Speaker John Diehl prohibited all food in committee hearings early this week.

Actuality:  DIEHL.WAV
Run Time:  00:13
Description: I believe that committee meetings should be held to the same decorum as we have out on the House floor. So I have instructed my chairmen that there will be no eating or meals provided during committee hearings.

Food is not the only thing the speaker has banned.

Last week Speaker Diehl banned off-site committee meetings.

House committee hearings will now take place only inside the Capitol.

Wrap:Missouri House Speaker John Diehl banned food in committee hearings early this week.

Diehl says committee meetings should be held to the same decorum as the House floor.

Elections Chairwoman Rep. Sue Entlicher agrees with the new policy.

Actuality:  ENTLICH1.WAV
Run Time:  00:13
Description: A lot of times especially on the morning committees people have already eaten breakfast by the time the committee takes up and so we've wasted food. And I'm not one to waste food so. And that's fine with me.

Diehl says he is open to amending the House rules to reflect this new policy.

For now he trusts chairmen to abide by his instructions.
