If you're under the age of 17, a House bill going to Governor Nixon's desk would require you to have your parent's permission to use a tanning bed.

Wrap: The measure requires the parent of a child under the age of 17 to sign a written statement at a tanning facility before the kid can use a tanning bed.

Jackson County Republican Representative Gary Cross sponsored the bill and it received wide bipartisan support across the House.

The final vote was 103-38 and the bill now heads to Gov. Jay Nixon's desk for his signature or veto.
