Some State Services Stay "Shut Down"

Date: October 17, 2013
By: Steven Anthony
State Capitol Bureau

Intro:
Federal workers are coming back to work, but some state services are still "shut down"
RunTime:  0:34
OutCue:  SOC

Wrap: If you live in Stoddard County, it could be a while before you can use a bus.

Stoddard County's Transit Office Manager Rachel Garrett says she doesn't expect to receive federal funds for a couple of weeks.

Actuality:  GARRETT1.WAV
Run Time:  00:13
Description: "They're going to start at the top of the chain, and transportation is probably somewhere down at the low end, so depending on when they get to us to give us our funds, that's when I get to rehire my employees."

Garrett says her office usually has 11 people in it, but she is the only person working there now.

Reporting from the state Capitol, I'm Steven Anthony.
