Just two weeks after resigning from office, former Missouri Republican House Speaker Steve Tilley has registered as a lobbyist.
Wrap: Tilley filed with the Missouri Ethics Commission as a lobbyist for St. Louis firms Fred Weber Inc. and Supermarket Merchandising, and his own company Strategic Capitol Consulting.
Tilley would have had five months left in his term.
Meanwhile Kansas City Democratic Representative Mike Talboy is working as the director of governmental affairs for the Kansas City engineering firm Burns & McDonnell. He still holds his position as House minority leader.
Unlike many states, Missouri doesn' require a cooling-off period in which former legislators must wait a year before becoming lobbyists.
From the state Capitol, I'm Elizabeth Hagedorn, Newsradio 1120 KMOX.
