Blunt says the U.S. Senate has not made a lot of progress during this year’s session, and the budget has not yet passed.

The three candidates are U.S. representative Todd Akin, former state Treasurer Sarah Steelman and St. Louis Businessman John Brunner.

Blunt says he would be glad to see whoever joins him in Congress.
