Missouri legislature passes new congressional map

Intro: 
A new Missouri congressional map goes to the governor's desk after it was passed in the House and Senate Wednesday.

Wrap: The new map would eliminate St. Louis Democratic Representative Russ Carnahan's district.

St. Louis Democratic Senator Robin Wright-Jones refused to sign off on the new map because it only leaves Democrats with two districts.

Description: I believe that Missouri has been a 50/50 state in its voting patterns and a 6-2 just was not reflective of our real mindset.
Republican Speaker of the House Steven Tilley says the map has enough republican support to override a veto from the governor.

The Missouri General Assembly passed a new congressional map on the day some legislators believe is deadline to override a potentional veto from the governor.

Democratic Representative Joe Aull says his constituents have been complaining about the new congressional district lines.

The map was approved mostly along party lines.
 
Republican Speaker of the House Steven Tilley says enough Republicans are on board with the map to override a potential veto from the governor.

While the new congressional lines split St. Charles County into two district and divides Jefferson County three ways.

Jefferson County Democratic Senator Ryan McKenna says that is his major problem with the measure.

Description: This to me is a completely, and I say this with all due respect because I know you worked very hard on this, this is a completely unfair map to the sixth biggest county in the state.
If the governor decides to veto the map, Republican Speaker of the House Steven Tilley says there are enough Republicans on board with the new map for an override.
