Wrap: The state has $200 million in federal funds to spend on broadband expansions in rural areas.

Gov. Nixon told nearly 300 broadband supporters that some of the money will fund the creation of a regional technology planning team.

This team will work with a proposed state broadband office to come up with a Internet expansion plan.

Nixon says 59 counties north of the Missouri River and 29 south of it will see broadband capacity relatively soon.

He says his first priority is to move forward in a "coordinated, but agressive, fashion" so Missourians can see a transformation in the next few years.
