More than 100 state workers rally the state capitol.

The state capitol was filled with chanting of state workers wanting more jobs.

"A better Missouri through respect and safety," was the declaration by a workers union to Governor Nixon.

(NATS shouting)

The state Capitol was filled with Missouri workers who were chanting for more available jobs.

Michelle Sanders is a worker for Fulton State Hospital and she says employees would be safer if there were more jobs.

But on the other side, Chairman of the Budget Committee, Republican Representative Allen Icet says in order for more state jobs to be added, programs elsewhere would have to be cut.

Contract talks between the state and the union AFSCME (AF-SMEE) began Tuesday, which will produce actual numbers of how many jobs the union wants.
