Governor - Elect Jay Nixon announced Kelvin L. Simmons will be his Commissioner of Administration starting in January. Nixon said Simmons has experience stemming from when he headed up the Missouri Public Service Commission and the Department of Economic Development.  Simmons said he knows what to focus on in his new job as Commissioner.

Description: "Understanding the budget, understanding how to deal with the legislature, interacting with the legislature.  All of those things are necessary in a director's job or a commissioner's job in being able to conduct the business for the citizens of Missouri."
 
The current Commissioner of Administration Larry Schepker said he looks forward to sitting down with Simmons and going over a list of key issues in order to make a smooth transition.

The Missouri Commissioner of Administration Larry Schepker said he is excited to work with and help the newly appointed commissioner Kelvin Simmons.

Governor-Elect Jay Nixon announced Simmons as his selection Monday morning.

Schepker said he will do everything he can to assure a smooth transition in Simmons taking office.
