Republican leader Paul Sloca suggested immediate committee resignation.

Description: "Well he serves on the judiciary committee, which you know, makes laws.  And we shouldn't have someone who breaks laws trying to make laws."

Senate Minority Leader Maida Coleman and Democratic Senator Jolie Justus, who are both on the Jurisprudence Committee with Senator Smith, do not think a resignation is necessary.
