Election season is heating up, and real issues are being debated. At least, the issues that the Republicans and Democrats want to discuss. Hugh Foley is running for U.S. Senate on the Reform Party ticket. Foley says the downfall of the political system is the lack of coverage of all views.

RunTime: 11s
OutCue: "only aggravate the situation." Contents: Foley says that when you have a lack of balance, a lack of choice, when you have whomever deciding that only one or two views are going to be heard, that can only aggravate the situation.

Foley has spoken with Republican candidate, John Ashcroft and is scheduled for another forum with Democrat Mel Carnahan; however, there are no forums scheduled to include all six candidates running for Senate.

Missouri's televised debates won't have room for all candidates.

Republicans and Democrats dominate the debate scene. But, the U.S. Senate race in Missouri has 6 candidates on the ballot. Hugh Foley, the Reform Party candidate, says the third party candidates don't get enough attention.

Actuality:FoleyH02
RunTime: 14s
OutCue: "That's certainly hard to swallow."
Contents: Foley says that although the third party candidates are in some debates, they are shut out of televised debates because they don't offer anything significant to the dialogue according to the television stations.

Foley has had the opportunity to sit down with Republican candidate, John Ashcroft and discuss issues. He will do the same with Democrat Mel Carnahan. However, neither of these forums will be televised.
