Lowering B.A.C Will Increase Budget

A proposed Senate Bill would aim to cut back the cocktail consumption of Missouri drivers. Ben Davis has the story from Jefferson City.

The U.S. Congress proposed a standard that all states pass a law that lowers the alcohol content level to .08. by 2003.

But, 18 states have already passed .08 legislation.

Republican Senator Morris Westfall is sponsoring the bill and hopes this will be the year it passes.

While Missouri has not had any money taken out of its budget, passing the bill last session would have brought a 3 million dollar bonus to the state.
