Rewards for Methanphetamine tips

The House has voted to give rewards for reporting tips on methanphetamine related crime.

That's if the House methanphetamine bill is passed. Melissa Phillips has the story from Jefferson City.

State lawmakers are calling the plan "Operation Payback".

The program would reimburse community crime tip organizations up to 250-dollars for each reward paid to callers whose information lead to a methanphetamine seizure.

House Sponsor Craig Hosmer says he doesn't think it's necessary to reward callers.

The bill would only reimburse crime tip organizations for up to five-thousand dollars.
