Carson Ross campiagns for floor leader position

State Capital Bureau Missouri's only black republican legislator is a candidte for the house minority floor leader position vacated by Mark Richardson's resignation.

One of those candidates is Kansas City area representative Carson Ross, and if elected, he will be the first black legislator to hold a republican floor leader position in the history of Missouri.

The position became available Monday morning when Mark Richardson resigned in the wake of drunken driving and child endangerment charges.
