Carson Ross campiagns for floor leader position

Missouri's only black republican legislator is a candidte for the house minority floor leader position vacated by Mark Richardson's resignation.
Liz Zack has the story from Jefferson City.
Within hours of Mark Richardson's resignation from the house minority floor leader position, three legislators announced their intention to fill the vacancy.
One of those candidates is Kansas City area representative Carson Ross, and if elected, he will be the first black legislator to hold a republican floor leader position in the history of Missouri.
The house republican caucus will meet again Monday to vote on the candidates.

The only black republican in the Missouri legislature is campaigning for the job of house minority leader.

Carson Ross, a black republican representative from the Kansas City area is quickly campaigning to be the next house minority leader.
The position became available Monday morning when Mark Richardson resigned in the wake of drunken driving and child endangerment charges.
If Ross is elected he will become the first black republican floor leader in the history of Missouri.
The house republican caucus is expected to meet on Monday to vote on the issue.
