The future of Missouri billboards is under debate at the state capitol. Sarah Coleman has more from Jefferson City.

A bill in front of Missouri's senate transportation committee encourages more billboards along Missouri highways.

But opponents to the bill say adding more billboards will cause more drivers to take their eyes off the road.

Enviromentalist and lobbyist Karl Kruse says he thinks more roadside advertising is a fatal mistake.

The bills sponsor, Senator Danny Staples says he believes billboards give travellers a sense of location.
