Griffin Still Lobbying

November 7, 1996

State Capital Bureau

Despite his indictment, former House Speaker Bob Griffin continues lobbying lawmakers. Tracy Sadeghian has the story from Jefferson City...

The former House speaker was roaming the legislative hallways as House members met behind closed doors to elect new leaders for the 1997 session.

Griffin was indicted last week on charges of influence peddling while he was House speaker.

When asked about the federal indicitments facing him, Griffin would give no comment.

Griffin began lobbying almost immediately after he resigned as a House member during the last legislative session.

At that time, he conceded that the continuing federal investigation into his activities had made it more difficult for him to attract clients.

From the State Capital, I'm Tracy Sadeghian.
