JEFFERSON CITY - Less than a year after Missouri lawmakers overrode the voter ballot decision to pass Proposition B, regarding dog-breeder regulations; Rep. Shane Schoeller, R-Willard, proposed a package of election changes which includes a change in the margin by which lawmakers could override voter decisions in the future.
However, not all legislators are as open-minded, fellow Republican Shane Schoeller, said if Missourians should be able to drive freely on their roads and if the proposal were to pass it would start a trickle down effect.
Rep. Shane Schoeller, R-Springfield, said what the Senate did is to centralize the power so they can control the power in the future. Schoeller said what Silvey is trying to do is to take that power out and create a more fair process.

House Speaker Pro Tem Shane Schoeller, R-Willard, proposed a package of election changes that he is calling the Missouri Fair Elections Act. The package includes requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls, creating new commissions to handle redistricting, changes in passing ballot initiatives and ballot language.
