JEFFERSON CITY - Rep. Russ Carnahan (D-St. Louis City) says he's resigning his post as House Democratic Caucus Chair to make time for a Congressional run. Carnahan has already formed an exploratory committee to run for Missouri's 3rd Congressional district seat, now held by Democrat Rep. Dick Gephardt. Carnahan says he will keep his current seat in the Missouri house.
But, with the State Auditor's report finding 70 percent of child abuse deaths occured even while child welfare services were in contact with families, Saint Louis City Representative Russ Carnahan says this meeting is a first step in improving the system.
Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, who attended the Rolla campus for his undergraduate studies and the Columbia campus for his law degree, said he created the caucus as a forum for information to pass between the university and legislators.
Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, said whether the legislature authorizes the governor to spend more tobacco money this year or not, members of both parties should continue to examine ways to reduce spending.
