Rep. Kevin Wilson, R-Neosho, said the Association is funded by fees from member schools, money the schools get from state taxes. This means the state has the responsibility to monitor the agency.
Representative Kevin Wilson became frustrated as school officials from around the state spoke against regulating the association and said the legislature has every right to monitor the agency because it is paid for through fees gathered from schools.
The bill's sponsor, Rep. Kevin Wilson, R-Neosho, said he thinks his bill will pass both the House and Senate, since a similar bill passed the Senate March 29.
