Jefferson County Democrat Jeff Roorda, who voted present on the proposal, had no problem with the premise of the proposed amendment but expressed concern with the wording. Roorda said the way the amendment is written electronic data that's in the public domain, like Facebook posts, could be protected.
However Jefferson County Democratic Represenative Jeff Roorda says the wording could prohibit collection of electronic data that's already in public like Facebook posts.
"This bill is defective on its face it allows an employer to terminate employees at their whim and there are just no protections in this bill...this leaves employees completely and utterly at the mercy of their employer"- Rep. Jeff Roorda, D- Jefferson County.
"We're about to make a great bound forward, in something that's really an embarrassment to Missouri, we've got more counties in Missouri that don't have access to 911 services than all the surrounding states combined" said Rep. Jeff Roorda, D-Jefferson County.
