Sen. Brian Nieves, R-Washington, said the changes made by Rep. Doug Funderburk, R-St. Peters, and members of the House were different from what was agreed on.
Rep. Doug Funderburk, R-St. Peter's, the sponsor of the vetoed bill, made adjustments to the bill presented during this session. Unlike Funderburk's previous bill and the measure passed in the Senate this year, this bill would not permit prosecution of federal agents for enforcement of federal gun laws.
But, the bill sponsor Representative Doug Funderburk said his intentions are not to make it harder for state and federal agencies to fight crime together.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Doug Funderburk, R-St. Peters, passed through the Missouri House earlier this month, and was debated by the Senate General Laws committee on Tuesday, April 15.
Fajen's comments came in response to a bill introduced to the House General Laws Committee, on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Rep. Doug Funderburk, R-St. Peters, presented a gun bill containing provisions that would allow teachers to carry guns on school property.
