Sen. Bill Clay, D-St. Louis, introduced a bill that will prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation. There ten other states that have such laws. Sen. Dave Klarich is concerned that it might recongize same sex marriages as a result of it.
Sen. Bill Clay, D-St. Louis, said his legislation prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation will stop homosexual employees from being discriminated against.
Sen. Bill Clay, D-St. Louis, said that while he hasn't studied either of the two new measures, he said some of his constituents are saying maybe term limits aren't such a good idea.
Sen. Bill Clay, D-St. Louis City, also voiced his concern that a partial-birth abortion ban would provoke violence in and around abortion clinics, but he said he was more concerned about a lack of access women may now have in receiving abortions.
The Senate gave first-round, voice-vote approval to a bill sponsored by Sen. Bill Clay, D-St.Louis, that would extend ethnic intimidation laws to cover acts based on sexual orientation, gender and disability. Clay's plan would lengthen sentences for criminals in these cases.
