We talked about our times serving as budget chair.We have similar backgrounds, and we talked about the issues and challenges we have both faced," Icet said.

Jackson County Democratic Representative Paul LeVota sent letters to Republican Representatives Allen Icet, Ron Richard, and Joe Smith, asking them not to vote on a bill that would remove campaign contribution limits.
Reps. Ron Richard, R-Joplin, Allen Icet, R-St. Louis County, and Joe Smith, R-St. Charles, were named in a March 18 Missouri Ethics Commission release that stated they would have to return campaign contributions if the Missouri legislature did not overturn the caps on campaign limits.
"We are above what the constitution of this state mandates," said budget Chairman Allen Icet, R-St. Louis County. "We are keeping our commitment, and our numbers prove that."
The governor's proposal, however, had been stripped from the higher education budget plan that was presented to the House Budget Committee by its chairman, Rep. Allen Icet, R-St. Louis County.
"Given the direction the national and state's economy seems to be going, I have a question on whether we can spend money on new programs," said Rep. Allen Icet, R-St. Louis County.
The bill, proposed originally in the House by Budget Chairman Allen Icet, R-St. Louis County, includes more than $31 million for Ellis Fischel and $15 million for a new nursing building at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The proposal, which cleared the House earlier this month, passed the Senate without change by a 30-3 vote.
