Base accreditation upon attendance centers rather than the entire district. Enact provisions designed to assist unaccredited districts. Allow payment of tuition for unaccredited district students to attend private schools. The governor vetoed a similar bill in 2014.

HCS SB 369 Sponsor:Pearce, David Status: H 3rd Read Description: Authorize the sale or transfer of various properties owned by the state including the Nevada Rehabilitation Center. The House version contains a number of unrelated issues including design-build single contracts, requiring legislative approval for agencies to accept gifts of land, authorizing local taxes for early childhood education, requiring purchase of local agriculture products by government agencies.

SB 424 Sponsor:Pearce, David Status: S Perfection Description: Deleay until July 2017 a provision authorizing the Education Department to adjust funding levels among school districts if the legislature fails to fully fund the School Foundation Program. Also delay a provision exempting those reductions being applied to hold-harmless districts that are protected from cuts in the per-student calculated figure.
