SCS SB 61 Sponsor:Hegeman, Dan Status: S Perfection Description: Allow another set of colored lights that a vehicle owned by a Transportation Department contractor that motorists are required to try to provide clearance when the vehicle is stopped. Include the option of red and blue lights in addition to amber or amber and white lights, but allow red and blue lights only when the vehicle is parked in a work zone.

CCS SB 62 Sponsor:Hegeman, Dan Status: GOVERNOR SIGNED Description: Increase the employee contribution for the public higher education retirement system by outside employees from 1 percent to 5.5 percent. And require two percent contribution to a separate account. Does not cover the University of Missouri. The House added a number of other retirement provisions unrelated to higher education.

Allow members from outside the district if the member lives within the county. Cease holding voter elections for commission members if there have not been candidates in the past two elections. The House added several unrelated provisions dealing with county nuisance ordinances, exempting commercial vehicles from nuisance ordinances in some cases, changes in business tax breaks in port authority zones, expanding authority for some counties to impose taxes on tourist attraction tickets.

SB 530 Sponsor:Hegeman, Dan Status: S Local Gov't & Elections Description: Nullify any minimum wage requirement adopted by a local covered prior to August 28, 2015. Effectively stops St. Louis minimum wage ordinance that was upheld by the Mo. Supreme Court stuck down the law Feb. 28, 2017, but a prior law continues to block future city minimum wages. Current law, passed in 2015, prohibits cities from imposing a minimum wage higher than state or federal law, but exempted cities that already had passed a minimum wage.
