SB 625 Sponsor:Cierpiot, Mike Status: H 3rd Read: Dropped Description: Abrogate (reverse) portions of a 2016 state Supreme Court decision that held that IBM's sale of computers to a credit card company did not constitute manufacturing costs that are exempt from the sales tax. The bill essentially would expand the definition of manufacturing to include production and transmission of telecommunicationm data. Missouri law exempts the costs of purchasing equipment for manufacturing from the sales tax. The court decision held data processing is not manufacturing.
