Under current law, a school that does not have classes for a minimum number of days has state funding reduced.

See: Official legislative description and status* HJR 88 Sponsor:McDaniel, Andrew Status: H Economic Development Description: Put into the Constitution the "right to work" law passed by legislators in 2017. "Right to work" prohibits requiring a person to join a labor union or pay union fees to get or keep a job. There is a petition campaign to put repeal of the "right to work" law. If that were approved in August, but HJR 88 was approved in November, it effectively would undo the repeal vote. The bill was assigned to committee until May 7 when there were less than two weeks left in the session.
