Wrap: MoDOT is in need of funding to help with maintaining and creating new roads throughout the state.

One proposed idea to help with funding is to increase the gas tax by two cents.

Republican Senator Rob Schaaf from St. Joseph's argued against the bill until late Tuesday night.

Actuality:  414SCHA2.WAV
Run Time:  00:10
Description: "You want to say people we are going to tax you two cents on your gas. You don't get to say. We are going to make it happen and you don't get a say. That's what you want to do."

Those in favor of the bill say more funding for MoDOT will lead to more jobs.
