Wrap: Columbia Senator Kurt Schaefer proposed a new measure that would give the Department of Corrections more options than just lethal injections or gas.

Schaefer said the pain of the drug is nowhere near the pain the prisoner has caused.

Actuality:  SCHAEFE2.WAV
Run Time:  00:11
Description: And if we are going to talk about the death penalty, and we are going to talk about pentobarbital and whether or not an inmate feels some pain, then we are going to have a discussion about the details of these crimes.

This comes after the drug commonly used for lethal injections, Pentobarbital, is no longer available to the department.

The company that makes it recently said it will refuse to sell the drug to Missouri for lethal injections.
