Wrap: A House committee met in a packed hearing room Wednesday to discuss Medicaid reform.

Lawmakers looked at plans other states have crafted to reform health care.  Republican Keith Frederick says Missouri cannot even consider expanding Medicaid to model other systems.

The compromise adopted in Arkansas allows eligible citizens to choose between a Medicaid health care plan, or a private insurance plan providing the same basic level of coverage at about the same cost.

Wrap: A House Medicaid reform committee met Tuesday and Wednesday to look at proposed plans.

Lawmakers were looking at a hybrid health care plan combining Medicaid eligibility expansion and support of private competitive insurance coverage.

Republican Keith Frederick says Missouri can't afford these plans, which have been adopted by other states like Arkansas.

Other lawmakers say they want to look into the efficiency and care quality in states who have made those changes.
