Mo. roads won't be pretreated for winter weather following heavy rain

Following heavy rain across the St. Louis region and most of the state, Missouri Department of Transportation crews won't be able to pretreat the roads for the possible winter weather.

Wrap: MoDOT Crews will be watching the weather extra closely as forecasters call for the rain to turn into a wintery mix.

The MoDOT maintenance engineer for St. Louis is Becky Allmeroth. She says crews will be ready to go as soon as the temperature drops.

Allmeroth also says black ice is common when temperatures drop and the roads are already wet.
