Wrap: With a vote of 17 to 15, the Missouri Senate blocked Republican St. Louis County Senator Jane Cunningham's proposed repeal of teacher tenure throughout the state.
Instead, the Senate approved Republican Warrensburg Senator David Pearce's plan which would create a task force to investigate the issue of teacher tenure but make no changes to it at this time.
Senate Majority Leader Tom Dempsey spoke out against putting off repealing teacher tenure.
