Wrap: The bill that was unanimously passed through the House governmental affairs committee, requires county assessors to consider market factors in determining value of real property for tax purposes.

The bill has already passed in the Senate and Senator Jane Cunningham says this is the fair thing to do.

Actuality:  CUNNI.WAV
Run Time:  00:09
Description: "Thirty percent of the homes on the market right now are foreclosures. It's not fair people to have to be paying for something that the value is not there."
Supporters say the bill provides more accurate and reflective property values to tax payers.

St. Louis County assessor Jake Zimmerman has expressed his support for the bill.

The bill now heads to the House floor and if passed will go to the governor's desk.
