RunTime:  0:49

Actuality:  SCHAAF18.WAV
Run Time:  00:11
Description: "The Senator from Lawrence is about to embark on the most partisian thing you can do, running for a partisan judgeship."

Those were Republican Senator Rob Schaaf's words to Republican Senator Jack Goodman, who is running for Circut Court Judge.

The Senate was debating a possible constituional amendment that would modify the nonpartisan commission which nominates state judges.

Democratic Senator Joseph Keaveny of Saint Louis City had some critical words for Schaaf as well.

Actuality:  KEAV18.WAV
Run Time:  00:10
Description: "Don't you see a contradiction there? Where you want to model the state of Missouri after the federal government? I don't think I've heard a decent word out of your mouth about the federal government."

After nearly 5 hours of debate, the Senate approved the resolution.

Reporting from the State Capitol, I'm Mary McGuire.
