Missouri's leading anti-abortion voice spoke out in favor of a proposed health care resolution Tuesday.

Wrap: Missouri Right to Life spoke out in favor of Republican Pacific Representative Paul Curtman's resolution at a House General Laws Committee.

The resolution would prohibit any person or employer from being forced to participate in any health care program.

Anti-abortion activists have condemned governmental funded abortions under federal health care programs .

Curtman says the resolution protects the freedom of Missourians.

In the August 2010 Missouri voters blocked the federal government from requiring people to buy health care and banned punishment from those who don't.

Colona says the passage of the proposition already covers the proposed resolution's goal.

Resolution Sponsor Representative Paul Curtman of Pacific says the constitutional amendment is necessary.
