Wrap: Communities and businesses across the state of Missouri took cover on Tuesday as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.
Communications Director for the Missouri Department of Public Safety, Mike O'Connell, says the drill was extremely important because three Missouri residents have died and many have been injured in tornadoes already this year.

Description: “This is designed to make people think a little bit about a tornado. Where they gonna go, where they gonna take shelter, and also how are they getting their message?” |
O’Connell says awareness is increasing across the state, and he says Missourians are inquiring more and seem more interested in weather safety.
The State Emergency Management Agency also has videos on their website demonstrating what to do, if there was a tornado nearby.
