A GOP filibuster that ran into the early morning hours Thursday blocked the governor's plan for tax cuts to business for economic development.  RunTime:0:45

Cape Girardeau Republican Senator Jason Crowell led the filibuster with debate coming from all sides.

Republican Washington senator John Griesheimer tried to find support for his cap on tax credits.

Crowell continued to stall, in both agreement and opposition.

It went on into the early morning hours as Crowell continued to fight his fellow Republicans.

For the second night in a row, a group of Republican outlaws blocked the Republican leadership's efforts on measures proposed by that same Republican leadership.

Tuesday night it was the proposal to let Ameren UE raise costs to build a new power plant in Callaway County.

Then Wednesday they proposed to provide tax breaks for businesses that create new jobs.

Republican Washington Senator John Greishiemer says Republicans can't continue this without a compromise.
