Senator Joan Bray of Saint Louis County announced Tuesday that she will not support Governor Blunt's nominee for MOHELA's commission board. Kathryn Buschman has more from Jefferson City,
James Mauze was nominated by the governor in October but has yet to be confirmed by the Missouri Senate. Typically nominees need to be supported by their district senator to get confirmation but Senator Bray said she will not support her constituent.
"I just was looking for someone with a record that I felt would be a good addition to the board and Mauze just in his experience I just felt like some of his resume didn't fit in with what this board needs."Mauze led the nomination to have the executive director of MOHELA fired last week and has until February 4 to be confirmed by the Senate or he will lose his position.
From the state capitol, Kathryn Buschman.

The man who led the nomination that fired MOHELA's executive director last week will not have his nomination to the board supported by his district senator. Kathryn Buschman has more from Jefferson City.
Senator Joan Bray of Saint Louis County announced Tuesday that she will not lend her support to James Mauze to be confirmed by the Senate. Mauze has been serving as an interim member to MOHELA's board because he was appointed before the General Assembly was in session. Bray said Mauze's resume does not fit in with what the board needs.
Without support from Bray, Mauze is unlikely to be confirmed by the Senate. If Mauze is not confirmed by February 4, he will lose his position. From Jefferson City, I am Kathryn Buschman.
