Blunt Kicks Off Ceremonial Signing Tour For Abortion Bill

Governor Matt Blunt is traveling the state on a two day tour to promote the new abortion bill despite an ongoing legal battle.

Governor Blunt began a ceremonial signing tour at a pregnancy center in Jefferson City just three days after a federal judge blocked the implementation of the bill.

"I think it's very disconcerting. A federal judge, immediately without allowing the law to have any sort of positive impact for the people of our state, Immediately usurped the will of the elected representatives of the people and of their governor."

The judge said that the bill's language was too vague and would restrict abortion counselling.
