Missouri will soon be sending National Guardsmens to help in the wake of devistation caused by Hurricane Katrina.
Governor Matt Blunt signed an executive order that will have over 1,000 Missouri National Guardsmen in the affected regions by Friday. The intial group will consist mainly of securty, medical, and transportation personel. General King Sidwell assisted the governor with the announcement.
Sidwell said the states commitment to the region could last up to two months, with guardsmen being cycled on two week deployments. From the state capital, I'm Jonathan Levin.
