Relocation bill passes House committee

A bill that will allow a divorced parent to move without losing custody was passed out of a House committee today/Wednesday at the Capitol. Aaron Cummins has more--

The committee passed the bill-- but not before adding an amendment to limit the move to within 30 miles of the child's current residence.

Kirkwood Representative Michael Gibbons pushed for the amendment because the bill would have allowed the parent with custody to move anywhere within Missouri without approval from a judge.

He says that puts too much strain on the child's relationship with the other parent.
