Missouri law makers voted to change sex education in state schools.
Beth Bentley has the story from Jefferson City.
The Senate passed a bill, Monday, that would require schools to emphasize abstinence as the best choice for unmarried couples.
It would also bann schools from distributing condoms or other contraceptives.
Bill sponsor Ted House said that since many parents don't take an active role in educating their children of the dangers of sex, having the schools teach abstinence is the best way to solve the problem.
The bill now heads to the House for debate.
